Giraffe Studio

An unused garden area at the rear of this block presented an unique opportunity to squeeze a lot more life out of this property. Giraffe Studio was designed from the ground up to do several jobs brilliantly: home office, yoga retreat, guesthouse and Airbnb.

A deep blue poured-concrete floor takes its cue from nearby Freshwater Beach while colourful bespoke joinery makes practical storage part of the fun. And then there’s the 'giraffe tile’, a whimsical detail that gave the studio its name and sets the playful tone for everything around it.

What was once unused land is now one of the hardest working spaces on the property, ready for a morning yoga session on the front deck or welcoming guests arriving with bags in hand for an extended stay. One little studio. A surprisingly long list of possibilities.
