What started as a plain, white, studio addition over a garage has become a soulful, inviting retreat. The owners, avid polo players, wanted a space for teammates, visiting coaches and family friends to stay during match weekends or even whole seasons. The result is a soulful, inviting retreat for post-match debriefs and long, restful stays.

Leaning into the culture of this historical sport without resorting to kitschiness, we packed this studio with polished functionality by:

Enveloping the studio in a deep field-green providing an expansive yet cosy atmostphere
Visually separating the studio space with a semi-enclosed kitchen and timber screening for the sleep area
Incorporating full functionality into a compact kitchen with multi-function, and right-sized, appliances
Sourcing flexible furniture to cater for the variety of uses the studio will see, like the contemporary drop-side dining table
