Our Current Obsessions

Welcome to another edition of The TSW Edit! Each month, we share our current obsessions to inspire and delight our clients. This month, we're watching, reading, sipping, and savouring some delightful experiences.

Let’s dive in!

Watching: “Hacks” Season 3

If you haven’t started watching Hacks yet, now’s the time to catch up. This brilliantly cast and written female-led comedy on Stan highlights the generational divide and ultimate two-way mentorship between strong, independent, and flawed women. The dynamic between the characters is both hilarious and heartfelt. Fun fact: the lead actor, Jean Smart, starred in an 80’s sitcom called Designing Women about a group of interior designers in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s a charming nod to our industry, and Hacks is perfect for some binge-worthy downtime.

Reading: “West with Giraffes” by Lynda Rutledge

For those cosy evenings, I recommend grabbing your favourite winter warmer and settling in with West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge. This captivating novel is based on a true story from the Depression era, detailing a cross-country road trip to transport two giraffes from New York Harbour to the San Diego Zoo. It’s a tale full of heart, adventure, and the deep bonds we form with each other and with animals. It’s a wonderful reminder of the unexpected journeys and connections that life brings.

EATING: At Bouillon L’Entrecote

If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience, head to Bouillon L’Entrecote on Loftus St in Sydney’s CBD. This French brasserie serves classic dishes with a contemporary twist. My absolute favourite? The Le Soufflé Gratine. It’s a must-try! The ambience is perfect for a chic yet relaxed dining experience, mirroring the balance we strive for in our design projects.

Drinking: Negroni Sbagliato

I may be a little late to the party but on a recent trip to Italy, I discovered the Negroni Sbagliato and it has quickly become my cocktail of choice. "Sbagliato" means "mistaken" or "wrong" in Italian, and this Milanese cocktail is a delightful twist on the classic Negroni. It swaps out gin for prosecco, making it a lighter, fresher option perfect for your next aperitivo. This bubbly, refreshing drink is a wonderful way to elevate your happy hour.
