Summer is knocking on our doors, and if you're anything like me, you're already daydreaming about what might be in store for the holidays.  Whether you’re planning a staycation or visiting Sydney from afar, I've got the inside scoop on some incredible things to do on the Northern Beaches that will make your summer holidays unforgettable.

 Let's dive in!

Sydney Road Art Gallery: Where Art Meets Soul

First stop, Sydney Road Art Gallery, because who doesn't love wandering through galleries soaking up inspiration and creativity?? This local gem, a collective run by incredible artists, isn't just a gallery; it's a vibrant community where creativity knows no bounds.

The artists behind this gallery are not only welcoming but have a wealth of knowledge and are eager to engage with art enthusiasts, collectors, fellow artists, and designers. Their focus on building relationships adds an extra layer of warmth to the already inviting atmosphere. In fact, they were kind enough to loan a few  pieces to showcase in our latest Belrose House photoshoot.

Representing mid-level exhibiting visual artists across painting, printmaking, textiles, and sculpture, this gallery is a testament to the diverse tapestry of the local art scene. It's not just about admiring the art; it's about connecting with the passionate souls who bring it to life.

Pro tip: Check out their website for current exhibitions and to explore the available works in their stockroom. Located right in the heart of Balgowlah, this gallery is a must-visit for those looking to add a touch of creativity to their summer adventures.

Banco in Manly: A Culinary Affair to Remember

Tucked away in a back street, away from the busy beach, Banco in Manly is where you want to be for a culinary experience that feels like a delicious secret waiting to be discovered. The atmosphere, courtesy of the talented team at Tom Mark Henry, is Lower East Side meets European gastro-pub. , providing an intimate setting that allows you to savour every bite away from the hustle and bustle of the beachfront.

What sets Banco apart is its seasonally changing menu, a culinary journey that focuses on cooking over charcoal. Each dish is a masterpiece, a testament to the chef's dedication to bringing out the best flavours in every bite. And let's not forget the drinks – from deliciously inventive cocktails to a curated wine list with a keen focus on small producers, Banco knows how to elevate your dining experience.

Exciting news on the horizon: The same talented team behind Banco has just opened Ullo in Dee Why! While I haven't had the pleasure of dining there yet, I can’t wait to dive into their pizzas and cocktails.. It's on my list, and if it's anything like Banco, it's bound to be a culinary adventure worth trying.

Personal Fave: I can’t go past their Creamy Corn Dip or the Negroni Sbagliato but I really haven’t been disappointed by anything on their menu yet!

SUP Yoga on Manly Harbour: Find Your Zen on the Water

For those seeking a perfect blend of fitness and serenity, SUP Yoga on Manly Harbour is a game-changer. Picture this: You, a paddle board, and the tranquil waters of Middle Harbour. It's yoga with a view.

Offered on Saturdays and Sundays this one-of-a-kind experience is not just a workout; it's a holistic journey about embracing a sense of adventure, pushing your boundaries, and having a damn good time.

I’ve been more than once, and let me tell you, the balance challenge is real, but the feeling of inner peace is worth it. There's truly nothing better than resting in savasana as the sun sets with the harbour lapping underneath your board—a moment that captures the essence of summer bliss.

Insider Tip: Don't worry if you're a yoga novice or a paddle board rookie – the instructors are super friendly and cater to all levels of experience and confidence. It's all about embracing the adventure and having a splashing good time, both literally and figuratively!

So there you have it, my friends – a trifecta of summer adventures just waiting to be discovered. Whether you're an art buff, a foodie on the prowl, or someone looking to find their zen, these Northern Beaches locals have got you covered.

As you gear up for your summer escapade, remember to savour every moment and embrace the joy of discovery.
